Tim Foster Testimonial
“By the grace of God, we came into the EPC after the unanimous votes of our Session, congregation and [former] Presbytery. The latest unanimous vote came this past Sunday afternoon when our ruling elders were examined by an Administrative Commission of Central South Presbytery. As a Session, we had been studying for months, spending at least an hour before each stated meeting discussing the WCF chapter by chapter. The preparation for the exam has been one of the most productive things we've ever done as a Session, and we're going to continue by studying the EPC Leadership Training Guide at our meetings. The commission members were gracious and thorough; they were very considerate in the way they made sure the elders were committed Christians and were grounded in the Reformed Tradition. After a roundtable discussion, they approved our elders unanimously. The reception of our church from transitional to full membership in the EPC is on the docket for this weekend's Presbytery meeting.
My reception into Central South Presbytery was also gracious and thorough. In both a conference call with the Ministerial Committee and during my examination on the floor of Presbytery, the members asked very specific questions about my faith in Christ, Scripture, Reformed Theology, Ordination Vows, Polity, etc. I was received by a unanimous vote and then warmly welcomed. I am grateful to be part of a denomination that has orthodox essentials and boundaries. They make for a deep level of trust in the EPC.”
