Equipping Committee
The purpose of the Equipping Committee is to work with Presbytery/Support Network staff and/or Ministry Networks to provide specific nurture and training events to Mission Networks, pastors, and individual congregations. Up to this time, our focus has been on encouraging the formation of Ministry Networks.
The committee will:
-
Provide a word of welcome and resource information for new churches and pastors coming into our Presbytery.
-
Continue to promote the formation of and participation in Ministry Networks, so that every church in the New Wineskins Presbytery will be part of an active Ministry Network.
-
Have a liaison person in each Ministry Network, able to share best practices and provide updates on Network activities.
-
Encourage the development of equipping and fellowship groups for pastors, elders, and others in leadership.
-
Develop a means by which pastors and elders who are geographically separated and/or isolated can study together, have fellowship and support each other.
-
Establish a directory of NWEPC members who are able and willing to lead training events in areas of special training and expertise.
-
Help provide training events as requested.
Presently the Committee consists of:
Chairman, Rev. Bill Kelly, Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania
Rev. Bill Crawford, First Presbyterian Church, Thibodaux, Louisiana
The New Wineskins Presbytery has a Mission Ministry Network Mobilizer (MMnM), Rev. Andy Curtis. He is available to assist in the organization of networks and to lead special training events on such topics as missional ministry, ministry networks, and short and long range planning connected with those subjects. Andy can be contacted by e-mail or by telephone: 484-631-6000. For more information about Andy’s role, view the Ministry Networks page.
To effectively accomplish our goal and objectives, the Equipping Committee needs new members. Elders and pastors who are interested in helping develop any of the things listed above are invited to contact us. You can contact the Committee at:
